The Green Dot on the NAVER app’s search home screen is being replaced by AI Tab.
NAVER (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced on June 26 that it has officially launched AI Tab, a generative AI-powered conversational search service, for all users, significantly expanding access to its AI search experience.
Green Dot has served as a mobile-era hub for search and AI tools, symbolizing connection and discovery. With the redesign, the experience is being reorganized around AI Tab. Smart Lens, a core tool for multimodal search, has been placed next to the AI Tab button for direct access from the search bar, while Music Search has been integrated into AI Tab.
AI Tab is an agentic search service that understands users’ search intent and context to provide answers, and goes beyond that by connecting them to real-world actions such as shopping, place discovery and reservations. With the official launch, all users can now access AI Tab with one click from the mobile and PC search bars on NAVER’s main page, which receives an average of 50 million daily visitors.* Starting in July, users will also be able to enter AI Tab from the chat box at the bottom of AI Briefing and continue their search journey.

AI Tab Tops 4 Million Cumulative Users in Two Months, Connecting Discovery to Maps and Real-Time Reservations
AI Tab, which launched in beta in April for NAVER Plus Membership users, surpassed 4 million cumulative users in about two months. Its seamless user experience has underscored the service’s potential to develop into an “action-oriented AI agent” that guides users naturally from information discovery to action.
During the beta period, click-through rates (CTR) for both product and place cards exceeded 20%. The more frequently users used the AI Tab, the more likely they were to be directed to services such as Shopping and Place. In fact, users who visited the AI Tab 11 or more times generated 2.7 times more product clicks and twice as many place clicks as users who visited only once.
The results show that AI Tab is steadily expanding beyond information delivery into an action-oriented AI agent that connects users to real-world actions.
The official version of AI Tab also introduces features that display NAVER Map information and available time slots for real-time reservations directly within its answers. When searching for restaurants, cafés or specific places, users can move naturally through a single flow, from checking relevant information to viewing maps, making reservations and visiting.
AI Tab Applies Specialized Model Optimized for a Service With 50 Million Daily Visitors, With Real Estate and Health Agents to Follow
To coincide with AI Tab’s official launch, NAVER has deployed a next-generation model optimized for action-focused conversational search.
The model is a “product-native LLM” custom-designed for NAVER’s service environment, which receives an average of 50 million daily visitors. It is built with an optimal scale and architecture for stable deployment across large-scale services, delivering fast response speeds and high throughput. Building on the capabilities of HyperCLOVA X, the model combines NAVER’s service scenarios, vertical data and user feedback to strengthen core performance in areas such as query understanding, answer summarization and tool calling.
NAVER plans to continue strengthening AI Tab’s agent capabilities through the specialized model. In the second half of the year, the company will introduce a feature that recommends personalized real estate listings based on users’ budgets and preferred areas. It also plans to launch a health agent feature that suggests personalized daily habits and health management guidance when users upload their health screening reports. AI Tab will also be added to Whale browser within the year, expanding user touchpoints across the broader web environment.
