'AI Guru' Andrew Ng Visits NAVER 1784 to Explore AI Technology Collaboration

On July 20th, Andrew Ng, renowned as one of the world's top four AI scholars and a professor at Stanford University, met with NAVER and NAVER CLOUD executives at NAVER 1784, to explore NAVER's AI capabilities and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER CLOUD, along with Sung Nako, Executive Director of Hyperscale AI, Ha Jung-woo, Executive Director of AI Innovation Center, Yun Sang-doo, Leader of AI LAB, and Yang Sang-hwan, Leader of NAVER D2SF. During the meeting, 'Team NAVER' shared NAVER's recent AI research accomplishments with Professor Ng and introduced HyperCLOVA X, showcasing NAVER's cutting-edge hyperscale AI capabilities. Professor Ng showed great interest in HyperCLOVA X and was impressed upon learning that NAVER had independently developed its own hyperscale AI, which is specialized in Korean language and culture.
Furthermore, they introduced 'CLOVA Studio,' which allows easy and flexible tuning and utilization of hyperscale AIs such as HyperCLOVA X. In-depth discussions took place regarding potential collaborations with various AI startups, as well as strategies for jointly expanding global AI ecosystem and developing safer AI technologies.
Following the meeting, Professor Ng was given a tour of NAVER 1784 headquarters, experiencing firsthand NAVER's diverse technologies, including digital twin, robotics, and cloud.
Professor Ng shared his impressions, stating, "NAVER's world-class AI research capabilities and HyperCLOVA X left a strong impression. Even from afar, I had been consistently hearing good things about NAVER, and I see numerous possibilities for collaboration to expand the AI ecosystem. The 1784 tour was also meaningful as I could experience NAVER’s exceptional technology firsthand at the testbed for future advancements. I hope we can maintain ongoing discussions and develop plans for collaboration going forward."
