TEAM NAVER’s technologies will be implemented in Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city, “New Murabba.”
NAVER Cloud (CEO Kim Yu-won) announced on the 30th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with “New Murabba,” which is set to become Saudi Arabia’s next-generation smart city, to collaborate in various areas such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart cities.
New Murabba is a representative future city development project promoted by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia. Currently under construction in Riyadh with an area of 15 km², it will offer various employment opportunities, large-scale residential and commercial facilities, schools, hospitals, and other public facilities. Notably, at the heart of the city will stand “The Mukaab,” a symbolic building encompassing retail, cultural, tourism, residential, and commercial features.
The core of this agreement is that both parties will promote the introduction of various innovative and digital solutions in New Murabba, including robotics, autonomous driving, spatial intelligence, smart city platforms, and urban monitoring solutions. Following the priority completion of digital twin projects in three Saudi Arabian cities and the establishment of a joint venture with the National Housing Company (NHC), TEAM NAVER is further strengthening its cooperation with this latest MOU.
The MOU was signed at the “New Murabba Seoul Forum” in Seoul on the 30th, attended by Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba Development Company (NMDC), Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER Cloud, and Seok Sang-ok, CEO of NAVER LABS.

CEO Michael Dyke stated, “New Murabba is a core project that realizes Saudi Vision 2030, transforming Riyadh’s real estate and urban landscape to a world-class level.” He added, “Our collaboration with NAVER Cloud, a global partner with innovative technological capabilities, is significant as we work together for Saudi Arabia’s future.”
Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER Cloud, commented, “It is highly meaningful that TEAM NAVER’s various innovative technologies will be introduced and utilized in New Murabba, which will serve as the benchmark and key infrastructure for new future cities. Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba, visited NAVER 1784 in October last year, and TEAM NAVER also met with local partners and conducted various discussions at Saudi Arabia’s Cityscape Global 2024 last November. </End>
