NAVER Corp. (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced that all five agenda items presented at its 27th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, held on the 23rd at the NAVER Green Factory in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, were approved.
The agenda items submitted for approval at the meeting were the approval of the 27th-term (2025) financial statements, a partial amendment to the Articles of Incorporation following revisions to the Commercial Act, the appointment of Kim Hee-cheol as an inside director, the appointment of outside director Kim Yi-bae as an audit committee member, and the approval of the limit on directors’ remuneration.
NAVER CFO Kim Hee-cheol was newly appointed as an inside director. With his appointment, a CFO has joined NAVER’s Board of Directors for the first time in 10 years since 2016. Drawing on his extensive experience and expertise in the IT industry, Kim Hee-cheol is expected to support the board’s sound decision-making at a time when investment strategy and financial stability are critical to NAVER’s global expansion. Shareholders also approved the reappointment of outside director Kim Yi-bae as an audit committee member.
“Last year, NAVER focused on building a foundation for mid- to long-term growth and an even greater leap forward by sustaining growth in its core businesses based on its AI- and data-driven platform competitiveness, while actively exploring global business opportunities,” said Choi. “This year, with shareholder value enhancement as our top priority, we will continue to strengthen our competitiveness by pursuing new challenges and driving innovation, including the full-scale introduction of AI agents across NAVER services and the expansion of AI capabilities accumulated on the NAVER platform across both B2C and B2B.”
