An AI agent will now begin accompanying users on their NAVER shopping journey.
NAVER Corp. (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced the beta launch of its Shopping AI Agent service on NAVER Plus Store, the company’s AI shopping app.
Shopping AI Agent Rapidly Suggests Product Features and Shopping Guidance Based on User-Entered Search Keywords
Powered by NAVER’s vast data, Version 1.0 of the Shopping AI Agent focuses on supporting users’ shopping discovery by summarizing and comparing product information and analyzing customer reviews.
When users enter shopping keywords in the NAVER Plus Store app, the Shopping AI Agent activates to ▲present shopping guidance or ▲suggest asking the AI directly.
For example, when a user searches for “sofa,” the AI agent analyzes the user’s personalized shopping history, summarizes various purchase tips based on the number of users, room size, and materials, and recommends suitable brands.
Detailed Exploration Through Conversations with AI Agent... Category Expansion and Agent Feature Upgrades Planned
For more detailed exploration, users can continue their shopping journey through conversations with the AI agent. By stating a specific shopping need, such as “Recommend a sofa for newlyweds. I live with a dog,” the AI agent analyzes product specifications and customer reviews, explores multiple product categories, and suggests optimized products.
Beta Version 1.0 offers Shopping AI Agent features mainly across digital, home, and lifestyle categories. NAVER plans to quickly expand coverage to beauty, food, and other categories within the first half of the year.
Moving forward, NAVER plans to gradually upgrade features such as real-time shopping trend analysis, automated recommendations for related products, and add-to-cart functions, enabling Shopping AI Agent to operate across the entire shopping journey.
Organic Integration of Sub-Agents Improves Performance from Discovery to Recommendation
NAVER’s Shopping AI Agent organically connects sub-agents that deliver optimal performance at each stage in order to efficiently handle the complex and demanding process from product discovery to comparison and recommendation. Built on a multi-agent architecture, the sub-agents are designed to use the best-performing model from among NAVER’s in-house models and external models.
The service is also significant in that NAVER has secured Shopping Intelligence, its proprietary commerce-specific large language model (LLM), through its own technology. Trained on data accumulated across the shopping ecosystem, including pricing, shipping information, product attributes, and user preferences, Shopping Intelligence enhances both service operational efficiency and task performance.
