NAVER Cloud announced that it has been awarded the ISO 37001 certification, becoming the first among Korean cloud service providers (CSPs).
ISO 37001 is an international standard that allows organizations of all types to prevent, detect and address bribery by adopting an anti-bribery policy for transparent and ethical business management.
NAVER Cloud has been verified as compliant with ISO 37001 by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, the designer and developer of the standard.
With the certification, NAVER Cloud is now officially recognized for its transparent and ethical management principles and business operation practices in the global CSP sector. This signifies that the company does not engage in any unfair or unlawful activities when selecting subcontractors or bidding for business to business (B2B) contracts, as well as submitting tenders for public sector projects where ISO 37001 certification is often necessary.
The organization underwent systematic and thorough preparations to obtain the certification. It introduced new anti-bribery policies company-wide and implemented more stringent screening processes to prevent bribery by reviewing business standards in its HR, finance, and legal departments. Businesses departments including infrastructure operation and cloud sales were also part of the effort to eliminate bribery risk factors.
NAVER Cloud plans to further expand its business capabilities by strengthening its partnerships with customers as a CSP of greater credibility with this certification. To this end, the company will continue to screen internal work processes and stakeholders to prevent any bribery risks to maintain a transparent management environment and fulfill its corporate social responsibilities.
“As Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) values have become important criteria in assessing a company’s corporate management performance, we will ramp up our efforts to implement and realize ESG practices guided by the ISO 37001 standards,” said Kim Tae-chang, NAVER Cloud’s Chief of Cloud Business. “As a leading Korean cloud service operator, we will fulfill our corporate social responsibilities and set a good example to foster an ethical business environment within the cloud industry.”
