NAVER is revamping its desktop home page to extend the convenience of mobile user experience to desktops. The new desktop home page will be fully launched on May 17. In the meantime, users can get a preview of the new home page starting at 2:00 p.m. on May 10 by clicking on the “Try Now” button displayed on the current desktop home page.

“Seamless” user experience available with ID sync on all devices including mobile and desktop
First, NAVER will update the search box design on the desktop home page to match that on the mobile version. The top menu items on the mobile home page, such as Quick Access (hamburger icon), NAVER Pay, and Notifications & Deals, will also be applied to the desktop page, ensuring seamless alignment with the mobile usability to desktops. Logged-in users can access My Services and My Sites they have set in the mobile Quick Access menu on the desktop home page as well.
Moreover, a “widget board” has been added at the bottom right of the page to provide easy access to services with high mobile usage on the desktop home page. The widget board enables seamless multitasking by offering small widgets for Calendar, Memo, Papago, English dictionary, NOW, and the NAVER mobile home page. Calendar and Memo, which may contain sensitive information, are also equipped with a lock function that restricts access to the user only.
Various convenience features have also been added to accommodate different users’ preferences and device environments. With this update, users can now choose the font size and screen style, and the layout is optimized for browser resolution. Users can adjust the font size in three levels according to their preference and situation and choose between light mode and dark mode. The dark mode option presents light text on a dark background, reducing eye strain and helping to lower power consumption. For resolutions of 2560 and above, the browser is displayed in a three-column layout, and if the window size decreases, the layout is adjusted accordingly, from a two-column layout to the mobile layout, leading to a more convenient user experience.
More extensive information on daily checked topics, shopping deals, orders, and shipments can be viewed on the desktop home page
The new desktop home page also offers more extensive information on the weather, stock market, and news, which are topics checked by users daily. In the expanded “Weather” section, users can check the real-time weather, fine dust status, and hourly weather conditions at a glance. Meanwhile, the “Stock Market” section provides detailed graphs of major Korean and global indices, as well as prices of popular stocks. Moreover, logged-in users can check the stocks of interest they set themselves. Next to the Newsstand tab, a tab for subscriptions has been added so that users can quickly and conveniently view articles from the media they’re subscribing to on their desktops as well.
The “Shopping” section was also improved. In addition to various product and deal information, users can now see their shopping history and track orders and shipments on the desktop home page right away. The “OnePlus Deal” and “Shopping Live” tabs, where you can see special deals and live shopping broadcasts, have been added to the existing “Shopping” and “Men’s” tabs to offer various shopping services previously available only on mobile.
Lee Jae-hu, head of NAVER App Services, said, “With the update, NAVER users can not only experience consistent usability across various devices such as desktop and mobile but also maximize learning or work efficiency with features optimized for multitasking like the widget board. NAVER will continue its work to offer our users unique experiences and convenience.”
