NAVER Cloud’s Whale made a presence at the “ICT EXPO 2023,” held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from June 9 to 11, showcasing its advanced web-based educational technology (EdTech).
Celebrating its 17th anniversary this year, the “ICT EXPO 2023,” Mongolia’s largest IT conference, grows in scale yearly because of increased interest from global IT companies targeting the Central Asian region. This year, NAVER Cloud’s Whale and multinational IT companies such as Google and AWS participated as event partners.
NAVER Cloud’s Whale organized a booth with Korea’s EdTech company NSDevil (CEO Lee Eonjoo) and Mongolia’s EdTech company Testera, and showcased Whalespace, an EdTech platform, and Whalebook, an EdTech device. Whalespace and Whalebook are actively used in educational settings to facilitate class management conveniently and enhance learning outcomes through various technological solutions even as COVID-19 enters the endemic stage.

During the three-day event, approximately 3,000 participants visited the Whale booth to experience Whalebook’s unique features, including class management and on-screen note-taking. Whalebook offers a class management feature that allows teachers to view students’ screens in real time and provide tailored education. Moreover, it allows note-taking on any screen and recording of the process for later use. These features were developed by the Whale team in response to feedback from teachers and students across diverse educational settings and are recognized as the platform’s key strengths.

Mongolia’s Minister of Education and Science Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren, Minister of Digital Development and Communications Uchral Nyam-Osor, and other government officials and businessmen from the education sector who also visited the booth were impressed by Whale’s technologies. Whale received an overwhelmingly positive response from the participants, earning the “Best Participating Enterprise” award at the ICT EXPO 2023.
Based on the positive on-site reception, Whale plans to promote Whalebook’s global expansion. In addition to collaborating with the Phenikaa Group, Vietnam’s most prominent education service company, since August last year to discuss the implementation of Whalespace and Whalebook in the Vietnamese educational setting, Whale plans to strengthen its presence in Central Asia.
