Through this agreement, NAVER CLOUD, NAVER LABS, and LX Corporation plan to integrate their technologies and expertise to build and continuously develop a digital twin platform that can be used for various purposes. They also plan to jointly discover and promote new global geospatial information–related businesses based on this digital twin platform.
NAVER LABS and NAVER CLOUD developed ALIKE, a technology that efficiently constructs a city-level digital twin using aerial photography and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, undertaking different projects in Korea and abroad. As of now, digital projects with Japan’s SoftBank and the National Museum of Korea are underway. LX Corporation, appointed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as the dedicated support institution for digital twin land platforms, is also building “LX Platform,” a digital twin–based platform specialized for addressing a wide range of urban and land challenges.
NAVER LABS Executive Officer Baek Jong-yoon said, “We will use NAVER’s unparalleled digital twin technology to create global use cases and strive to discover various new businesses. We will also continuously advance the digital twin technology, which is the foundation for building a smart city platform ecosystem.”
“In addition to the digital twin platform, NAVER’s advanced technologies and applications including HyperCLOVA are made accessible to many customers through the secure and reliable NAVER CLOUD platform,” Han Sang-young, Executive Director of NAVER CLOUD Strategy and Planning, noted. “By partnering with LX Corporation, we also look forward to creating a range of global use cases.”
