NAVER and SOCAR signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on July 24 at NAVER 1784 in Seongnam,
Gyeonggi-do, to work together to innovate mobility services. The signing ceremony was attended by NAVER CEO Choi Soo-yeon, SOCAR CEO Park Jae-wook, and other representatives.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to cooperate based on NAVER’s new hyperscale AI, “HyperCLOVA X,” which will be unveiled in August. SOCAR will enhance its mobility service experience by integrating its own data with HyperCLOVA X to build an AI-based customer service system and improve the recommendation and reservation features. HyperCLOVA X is a model that, when combined with customer data, can build hyperscale AI products specifically tailored for individual services or companies.
In addition, NAVER’s AI and cloud technologies will support the establishment of SOCAR’s stable and efficient IT infrastructure. SOCAR is considering boosting its customer center’s operation competitiveness by leveraging NAVER CLOUD’s AI customer center solution. Furthermore, SOCAR plans to work with NAVER CLOUD to enhance business operation and management efficiency and improve its services.
Beyond technological cooperation in AI and cloud, NAVER plans to integrate SOCAR’s mobility services into NAVER Map and NAVER Travel to improve their usability. Thus, when you book a KTX ticket on NAVER Map, you will be able to make a reservation for the SOCAR car-sharing service near your departure or destination points, as well as make a reservation and payment for the online parking platform “Moduparking,” all through integration. By incorporating NAVER Navigation, which relies on NAVER Map’s Point of Interest (POI) data, the largest location data in Korea, into SOCAR car-sharing vehicles and services, SOCAR will offer their users more convenient travel experiences.
SOCAR’s benefits will also be affiliated with NAVER Travel’s membership, “N Travel Club,” offering richer membership benefits. Depending on the N Travel Club membership level—Basic, Smart, Gold—discount benefits such as SOCAR coupons will be provided.
NAVER CEO Choi Soo-yeon stated, “By combining NAVER’s service and technological expertise with SOCAR, we aim to provide enriched information and benefits to our users. NAVER will work with SOCAR to explore various collaborative initiatives in mobility, travel, and other services to enhance user convenience. We also look forward to seeing NAVER’s AI technology, including HyperCLOVA X, being more widely used to drive business innovation.”
SOCAR CEO Park Jae-wook said, “This cooperation has laid the foundation for SOCAR and NAVER to lead service innovation and shape the future of mobility. The two companies will strive to offer a more convenient and smart mobility ecosystem to our users, with a belief in the power of AI and technology.” <END>
