ZEPETO, the immersive avatar-based social platform operated by NAVER Z (co-CEOs Kim Dae-wook, Kim Chang-wook), announced its latest partnership with Gucci, unveiling Gucci’s 2024 Spring Collection not only on the runways of Milan but also within the immersive virtual world of ZEPETO. Gucci and ZEPETO partnership, which commenced in 2021, has consistently captivated Gen Z users with a series of Gucci virtual items. The latest debut on ZEPETO reaffirms that there's no better way to unlock Gen Z's virtual wardrobe than ZEPETO.
On the 22nd of September, ZEPETO showcased the debut fashion show of Gucci's new Creative Director, Sabato De Sarno, via a live-streamed event. Immediately following the broadcast, exclusive items from Gucci’s 2024 Spring Collection debuted on ZEPETO, offering users an exclusive glimpse at the Milan Fashion Show.
As part of this collaboration, the existing Gucci destinations on the platform were transformed into Gucci Ancora World with an entirely new look. The fashion show was live-streamed in Gucci Ancora World, designed to replicate the authentic atmosphere of the fashion show. Starting this October, this virtual space is set to offer even more enriching entertainment and immersive experiences for users, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the latest forms of the Gucci brand.
The strategic partnership between ZEPETO and Gucci, initiated in 2021, underscores their mutual commitment to leverage virtual and digital experiences as a bridge to connect with Gen Z fashion enthusiasts. ZEPETO, with its Gen Z-centric platform, has attracted numerous global fashion brands to connect with their future customers through immersive experiences.
Gucci’s partnership with ZEPETO has been a remarkable success, with over 800,000 Gucci virtual items sold on ZEPETO and 53 million views of in-app user-generated content as of August 2023. Moreover, Gucci took a bold step into the digital realm by live-streaming its fashion show on ZEPETO for the first time in May 2023. This virtual show amassed 56,000 views within a mere week.
Ricky Kang, Head of Business at NAVER Z, stated, "ZEPETO is a platform where users express themselves uniquely, and fashion and beauty items have become essential tools for users to express themselves in the virtual space. This is why many global fashion brands are now joining our platform to establish their presence and raise brand awareness among future customers." Kang expressed his commitment to continuing to provide exciting collaborations that offer users diverse avenues for self-expression.
