NAVER Z has successfully concluded its online campaign for #SID2024 (Safer Internet Day 2024, affirming the considerable engagement of users.
Originating in Europe in 2003, Safer Internet Day has been pivotal in raising global awareness regarding online safety. Industry leaders such as META and Google, alongside esteemed organizations like Save The Children and UNESCO joined forces in this initiative, showcasing a collective commitment to the cause. For the second consecutive year, NAVER Z actively engaged in this campaign, underscoring its dedication to fostering a safer online environment.
As part of its campaign, NAVER Z introduced a challenge inviting users to submit User-Generated Content (UGC) to promote the practice of self-love online under themes of wellness, identity, and self-esteem. Leveraging ZEPETO’s official safety avatar, Soteria, the challenge was effectively promoted to users and renowned creators on ZEPETO, including Sey, Gyuri, and 13iz, enthusiastically joined the effort to promote the challenge, further amplifying the campaign’s reach and impact. The response was significant, with over 120K users contributing content over a five-day period, accumulating over 2.3M content views.
Jun Young Ro, the Head of NAVER Z's Global Affairs, remarked, “For this year’s SID campaign, our focus was on emphasizing the importance of self-love in cultivating a safe internet culture. NAVER Z remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a safer virtual space through diverse safety campaigns."
In January, NAVER Z implemented enhancements to its community management system, aimed at improving transparency and efficiency. These enhancements included the introduction of a scoring system for managing community guideline violations, providing violators with comprehensive reports detailing their infractions, and outlining when penalties will be lifted. Additionally, on February 21st, ZEPETO will release its community report, transparently sharing safety-related insights and efforts.
