NAVER has introduced a new model of its hyperscale AI, “HyperCLOVA X,” named “HCX-DASH.”
On April 25, NAVER CLOUD (CEO Kim Yu-won) launched the first version of HCX-DASH, “HCX-DASH-001,” through its AI development tool “CLOVA Studio.” Customers of CLOVA Studio can now develop customized AIs using established HyperCLOVA X models and the new HCX-DASH-001.
HCX-DASH is offered at a lower price than the current HyperCLOVA X model, HCX-003. Clients can access this new model in CLOVA Studio for just one-fifth of the cost of existing models. Moreover, HCX-DASH boasts enhanced speed with its efficient utilization of computing resources.
HyperCLOVA X already provides Korean users with relatively good cost-effectiveness and usability, as it processes Korean faster and at a lower price than AI models primarily trained on English data. HCX-DASH is expected to enhance these benefits further, accelerating the adoption of HyperCLOVA X in the industry.
NAVER CLOUD intends to progressively introduce a variety of HyperCLOVA X models in CLOVA Studio. Users can flexibly select the model that best suits their needs, considering the type of work and associated costs. Notably, HCX-DASH is expected to be applied to a wide range of services for various purposes, excelling in tasks from sentence generation, categorization, and summarization to more complex activities like report writing and custom chatbot creation. In addition, plans are underway to launch models that can handle more advanced tasks and process text, images, and audio data.
Sung Nako, Executive Director of Hyperscale AI at NAVER CLOUD, remarked, “As AI adoption becomes more critical across the industry, we hope HCX-DASH will reduce the barriers companies face in implementing generative AI technology. With tasks to be accomplished by AI becoming more varied and detailed, we will keep introducing HyperCLOVA X models equipped with the necessary features to provide the most suitable options for the intended use, thus expanding the AI ecosystem.”
Since its launch last August, HyperCLOVA X has been upgraded by acquiring specialized data, refining reinforcement learning algorithms, and incorporating user feedback data from the conversational AI service “CLOVA X.” Since January of this year, the HyperCLOVA X model HCX-003 has been operational, displaying significantly enhanced performance in key functions such as alignment, description, summarization, extraction, explanation, structuring, judgment, and planning.
The companies’ use of HyperCLOVA X to develop specialized models and AI services is rapidly increasing. Over 2,000 companies and research institutions have used CLOVA Studio, and entities from sectors like finance, education, legal, distribution, gaming, and software work together to create innovative services leveraging HyperCLOVA X.
