NAVER CLOUD (CEO Kim Yu-won) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (Converge), an Internet service provider in the Philippines. This partnership aims to expand cloud services in the Philippine market and foster digital transformation using NAVER’s artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and smart city technologies.
The signing ceremony was held at Converge’s office, attended by key executives from both companies, including Converge CEO and cofounder Dennis Anthony H. Uy, Converge cofounder and president Maria Grace Uy, NAVER CLOUD CEO Kim Yu-won, and NAVER CLOUD CTO Kwak Yong-jae.
According to the agreement, Converge will act as the primary local managed service provider (MSP) partner for NAVER CLOUD in the Philippines. They plan to utilize NAVER CLOUD’s Singapore region to expand cloud and digital transformation (DX) services for Philippine customers.
The two companies intend to leverage NAVER’s diverse technological capabilities to advance digital innovation in the Philippines. NAVER CLOUD employs a sovereign strategy to protect data autonomy by securely storing customer data in its own cloud, offering HyperCLOVA X–based AI systems cloud solutions tailored to the local political and cultural context. The partners are exploring various AI-related ventures in the Philippines using a sovereign cloud and HyperCLOVA X.
They also plan to work together comprehensively to ensure successful digital innovation in the Philippines. This collaboration will leverage NAVER’s expertise in smart city technology, which has been acknowledged through digital twin projects in Saudi Arabia, and NAVER’s business tools, such as NAVER WORKS and the NAVER Whale web browser.
