Saudi Arabia’s interest in NAVER’s advanced technologies, especially those showcased in the “Tech Convergence Building” 1784, remains strong.
On May 23, Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) visited 1784 where TEAM NAVER’s technologies were integrated. They were welcomed by NAVER executives, including Chae Seon-ju, President of NAVER’s ESG and External Policy; Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER CLOUD; Seok Sang-ok, CEO of NAVER LABS; and Ha Jung-woo, Executive Director of NAVER CLOUD’s AI Innovation Center.
During the visit, Alghamdi and his team were given an in-depth look at NAVER 1784’s cutting-edge technologies, including AI, digital twins, and robotics. They also engaged in discussions focused on potential technological collaborations between NAVER and SDAIA. SDAIA is responsible for strategy development, research, and development in AI, Data, and Smart City sectors in Saudi Arabia.
NAVER showcases forefront technologies such as AI, digital twins, robotics, and autonomous driving to global representatives at NAVER 1784, the world’s first robot-friendly building. Officials from major Saudi institutions, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the National Information Center (NIC), and the National Data Management Office (NDMO), have visited 1784 to experience NAVER’s technological advancements and discuss collaborative opportunities.
President Alghamdi’s visit this year continues the ongoing exchange between NAVER and SDAIA, following General Manager Alhassan Alhazmi’s visit to NAVER 1784 in February 2023.
