WEBTOON Entertainment, a leading global entertainment company and home to the world’s largest digital comics platform, today announced a stacked lineup of programming at San Diego Comic-Con. As the company celebrates its milestone 10th anniversary in the U.S. in July, WEBTOON creators and executives will appear across exciting panels, can’t-miss industry discussions, and fan signings throughout the event.
In a programming highlight, Wattpad WEBTOON Studios will bring Oscar-winning writer and producer Diablo Cody (Juno; Jennifer’s Body; Lisa Frankenstein) to the stage for a one-on-one conversation with Variety film reporter Katcy Stephan. Cody will discuss her approach to storytelling, balancing humor and horror to keep audiences on the edge of their seat. In the session, Cody will also discuss her work producing the upcoming adaptation of Violet Karim’s hit WEBTOON series “Death of a Popstar.”
WEBTOON will also bring together globally popular creators including uru-chan (unOrdinary), Snailords (Freaking Romance and Death: Rescheduled), and Meredith Moriarty (Third Shift Society); major entertainment partners from Skybound Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company; expert voices in comics and entertainment; as well as executives from WEBTOON and Wattpad WEBTOON Studios. WEBTOON’s SDCC programming will offer far-ranging discussions of comics, entertainment, and fandom on the company’s 10-year anniversary in the U.S.
Rounding out its SDCC 2024 presence, WEBTOON is notably also up for two Eisner Awards during the convention, with Best Webcomic nominations for Rachel Smythe’s global sensation and two-time Eisner winner “Lore Olympus,” and Evan Dahm’s apocalyptic fantasy-adventure series “3rd Voice.”

-Digital Comics and The Fandom Multiverse (10 Years of WEBTOON U.S.) — Featuring Snailords, creator of Freaking Romance on WEBTOON; uru-chan, unOrdinary creator on WEBTOON; Meredith Moriarty, Third Shift Society creator on WEBTOON; David Shinok, Head of U.S. WEBTOON. Moderated by Rob Salkowitz, Eisner-nominated reporter for ICv2 and Forbes.
-AAPI Representation in Comics and Media — Featuring Taejin: Legend of the Yang Metal, from WEBTOON creator and actor Kevin Kreider (“The Traitors” and “Bling Empire”).
