Following an update on January 30, NAVER’s conversational AI service, CLOVA X, commenced the integration of “Skill” with the retail tech service ‘Kurly’, AI matching recruitment platform ‘Wanted Lab’, and the highly personalized travel platform Triple.
“Skill” connects each service’s latest and specialized data with CLOVA X, enabling the delivery of more precise answers. This update expands CLOVA X’s integration beyond NAVER’s in-house services, such as NAVER Shopping and NAVER Travel, to include a range of external services, following the addition of the mobility platform SOCAR’s Skill last November.
In particular, the newly integrated external services are expected to improve CLOVA X’s everyday functionality. For example, when seeking recent job opportunities aligned with your career profile, activate the “Wanted” Skill with a request on CLOVA X, such as, “Find me companies to apply to as a five-year UX designer.” Following this, CLOVA X compiles and displays a curated list of job postings tailored to your position and experience, drawing from the data provided by the Wanted platform.
Moreover, CLOVA X facilitates seamless navigation to various services, enabling tasks like submitting job applications, making reservations, and purchasing products based on the response. By activating the “Triple” Skill and requesting a travel itinerary like “a three-night, four-day itinerary for Osaka,” CLOVA X showcases the optimal itinerary compiled by Triple, with links to the Triple app for accessing in-depth details about the location or reserving accommodations and tours. Similarly, activating the “Kurly” Skill and asking for “winter snacks popular among elementary school kids” prompts CLOVA X to recommend appropriate items, providing information on prices, reviews, and purchase links.
NAVER plans to partner with specialized services that help boost productivity and professional capabilities such as, documentation and knowledge discovery. Head of NAVER CLOUD’s Hyperscale AI technology, Sung Nako, stated, “Generative AI, linked with multiple systems to perform complex tasks, will grow more significant. We aim to expand the CLOVA X skill ecosystem and improve the model, making it an AI service that offers significant user benefits.”
CLOVA X, a conversational AI agent leveraging NAVER’s hyperscale AI “HyperCLOVA X,” continually refines its performance and usability through user input and feedback. Last year’s update improved productivity in writing, coding, and logical analysis, and recent enhancements further boosted creative and analytical writing capabilities. Moreover, new features now allow users to upload documents and images, summarize and manage document content, or edit images via interactions with CLOVA X.
