The NAVER Pay MoneyCard, facilitating global usage of NAVER Pay Money and Points, has become an essential travel companion with its robust benefits, including an unconditional 3% cashback and waived fees for overseas transactions.
NAVER Pay (CEO Park Sang-jin) announced that the NAVER Pay MoneyCard has been embraced by travelers worldwide, surpassing 200,000 cards issued within two months of its launch and utilized across 113 countries.
Launched last November in collaboration with BC Card, the NAVER Pay MoneyCard allows for global utilization of NAVER Pay Money and Points in a physical card format at all Visa-affiliated merchants worldwide. Distinguishing itself with a flat 3% cashback on both online and offline overseas purchases, without any annual fees or monthly requirements, it stands as a leading offer among comparable prepaid debit cards, especially those specialized for overseas transactions, in the industry.
With these benefits, the NAVER Pay MoneyCard has seen widespread usage across 113 countries globally, including Asia (particularly Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam), Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Africa, all within just two months of its launch. Japan leads in card usage, with users enjoying an average monthly point benefit of KRW 22,500. The top user has accumulated approximately KRW 1.18 million in points to date.
NAVER Pay plans to enhance the perks of the NAVER Pay MoneyCard by extending its overseas payment fee waiver promotion. Originally scheduled to end on February 29, the waiver for overseas offline payment fees will now continue until June 30. Furthermore, starting in March, the waiver will also cover overseas online payment fees, enhancing the value for cross-border shoppers. Details on this promotional extension will be announced later.
A NAVER Pay spokesperson stated, “The NAVER Pay MoneyCard is primarily sought by genuine users seeking a beneficial payment option for their upcoming overseas travels or business trips. It is rapidly gaining traction among users who recognize its value, as evidenced by its expanding usage across numerous countries. With its unmatched cashback rates and the extended waiver of overseas payment fees, it is poised to become a must-have for an increasing number of international travelers and cross-border online shoppers.”
