NAVER Cloud Accelerates Global Public Sector Expansion as Taiwan’s Semiconductor Hub Hsinchu Adopts LINE WORKS

LINE WORKS, NAVER Cloud’s collaboration platform known as NAVER WORKS in Korea, has entered Taiwan’s public sector market.

NAVER Cloud announced on September 7 that Hsinchu City, Taiwan, has adopted LINE WORKS as its official collaboration tool. The deployment marks the platform’s first large-scale partnership with a Taiwanese government agency. Building on its presence in Japan’s public sector, NAVER Cloud is now expanding into Taiwan’s public sector as it accelerates its global growth.

Hsinchu is a major science and technology hub, home to Taiwan’s largest semiconductor and IT industrial park, where TSMC and other companies operate. The city combines a high level of digital literacy with strong expectations for public services. It has taken the initiative to deploy LINE WORKS at scale as a key part of its smart city development and AI-driven digital transformation of government operations.

The two parties also plan to conduct joint research and pilot projects on administrative applications powered by AI and digital technologies. Their research and field studies will focus on improving administrative efficiency and the quality of services for residents.

The deployment is expected to significantly accelerate LINE WORKS’ expansion in Taiwan. The platform has quickly established a foothold, attracting at least 150 businesses and institutions and at least 10,000 users in approximately 10 months since its official market launch. NAVER Cloud plans to expand adoption among other local governments and public institutions across Taiwan, drawing on the Hsinchu deployment and the experience behind LINE WORKS’ eight consecutive years as Japan’s leading business collaboration tool by market share, beginning in 2017.

NAVER Cloud has been selected as the provider of Korea’s official government-wide collaboration platform and is also rapidly expanding its presence in overseas public-sector markets, including Japan and Taiwan. The company aims to further strengthen its leadership in domestic and international public-sector software-as-a-service (SaaS) markets through its proven ease of use and AI capabilities tailored to government operations.
